Article: Why Shaving Oil is Better Than Shaving Foam

Why Shaving Oil is Better Than Shaving Foam

Why Shaving Oil is Better Than Shaving Foam

If you're still using shaving foam or soap...stop. That is doing nothing for the health of your skin.

Using chemical products like foam or soap to shave (we've even used hair conditioner on our legs) - strips away all the moisture from your skin. So, those brand new cells you just revealed after shaving are essentially gasping for moisture as soon as they're born (think SpongeBob without water). Leaving you to cake on moisturizer when you step out of the shower.

But, you don't have to treat your skin like that! Shaving with oil protects and nourishes your skin, while giving you a smoother shave.

There are 3 main reasons to switch from chemical shaving products to shaving oil:

CLARITY:
For starters, it's clear...oil is clear. No more shaving blind! With shaving oil, you can actually see what you're shaving. It's important to see your hair growth patterns, so you can shave with the grain. Most of us have been taught to shave against the grain for a closer shave, but this actually tugs at your hair follicles and can create bumps and razor burn. Shaving with the growth pattern is the way to go, and you need to be able to see the hair to do this.
Also, humans have curves and bump and bulges. When you shave with foam you can't always see those nooks and crannies. With an oil, you're less likely to cause irritation - because no one wants razor burn or a nicked nipple.
LUBRICATION:
Oil repels water...which makes for a smoother glide and less product wash-away.
Does your shaving foam wash away as soon as water splashes?
Does your razor feel scratchy?
Is your skin itchy?
Our shaving oil adds a buffer between the razor and your skin, so your skin is lubricated, protected and moisturized as your shave.
REPLENISHMENT:
Our Body/Shave Oil is filled with good things for your skin, like Vitamin E, Vitamin A and Omega Fatty Acids.
As you shave, you're removing the top layer of dead skins cells that protect the newer, fresher cells. This means, that without that top layer of dead skin cells - those newer skin cells are exposed to the air and chemicals - which immediately dries out your skin.
When you shave with foam or soap, the chemicals further suck out moisture from those new cells - leaving your skin dry, dull, and itchy. Do you lather up with moisturizer as soon as you get out of the shower?

When you shave with an oil - you're moisturizing and nourishing those fresh cells IN the shower. Long term, shaving with oil helps your skin stay smooth and silky. It will support skin elasticity, preventing fine lines and sagging. And our oil protects again free radicals and UV rays that damage the skin.

Shaving with oil is a better shave experience you'll have to feel to believe.
